Please join Claire Monneraye, Curator, Australian Centre for Photography, and Peta Clancy, Under the sun exhibiting artist, for a behind the scenes discussion and walkthrough of Under the sun: Reimagining Max Dupain's 'Sunbaker'. You'll gain an insight into the curatorial rationale of the exhibition and what is involved when you commission 15 contemporary artists to respond to Max Dupain's 'Sunbaker' from both the Curator's and the Artist's perspective.
Participants will receive a hard copy of both the Australian Centre for Photography's excellent Education Kit and the Exhibition Catalogue. Teachers wishing to have a certificate for VIT professional development please indicate this when registering. Refreshments will be provided.
Register here RSVP requested by 3pm on 4 May for certificate generation.
Antoinette Clements at the Australian Centre for Photography has created a fantastic Education Kit for this exhibition. It includes a history of the original Max Dupain image, the curatorial rationale, and questions and activities for each of the artists.
In addition to this very useful document, the ACP has also created nine video interviews with artists involved with the show and an additional video that looks at the many varied reinterpretations of the 'Sunbaker'. MGA has created a one-stop page that compiles all of these ACP resources along with other relevent links to use when exploring Max Dupain and the artists of the show.
